Seriously madenning Bild article on how cargo bikes take too much space in cities where the infrastructure is not fit for them... ...illustrated by a picture where most of the carriage AND footpath space is taken up by cars 🤦‍♂️

Also great illustration of double standards here: - if cargo bikes scare pedestrians out of the way that shows there's something wrong with cargo bikes - but if cars *don't* scare cargo bikes out of the way that also shows there's something wrong with cargo bikes

That headline is 100% applicable to cars

Slows down traffic - they are traffic, just not the polluting kind!

Ok fine then let's just park the cargo bikes in car parks. Then it'll take up exactly the space it would have, had the owners done the normal thing and used a car. But that'll be wrong too 🙄

What is “normal” about using a car?

Hate to give Bild any credit but I have nearly been knocked off my bike several times by e-bikes with trailers (the big ones used for commercial purposes). Too fast and wide for the bike lane. Of course they're being cynical and the answer is wider bike lanes but still annoying.

Yeah as long as alternative modes are left competing for tiny strip of leftover space there will be tension between them

I wonder what my friend and colleague @0jhl would think about that.
