Orbital Launch no. 57 of 2022 🇺🇸🚀
OFT-2 | ULA | May 19 | 1854 ET
After initial problems during #OFT1 mission & #OFT2 prelaunch rehearsal, @NASA & @BoeingSpace will launch #Starliner atop #AtlasV N22 (AV-082)🚀 to @Space_Station, stay docked for 10 days & then touchdown in WSMR
See #Starliner successfully, autonomously rendezvous and dock with @Space_Station during #OFT2. Through the combined work of @NASA and Starliner teams, the spacecraft connected to the Boeing-built International Docking Adapter at 7:28 p.m. CT.
It honestly feels really refreshing to see something other than Dragon dock to the station. Don't get me wrong, Dragon is amazing and I love it very much, but I am very happy that Starliner finally made it!
👋 Hello, #Starliner! @BoeingSpace's human-rated spacecraft has arrived at the International @Space_Station for the first time, docking at 8:28pm ET (00:28 UTC).
Boeing plans to retract and re-extend the docking ring on the Starliner spacecraft to resolve issue with the capsule’s docking system. This will delay the docking by another 30 minutes. spaceflightnow.com/2022/05/2…
#Starliner again delayed after it had been retargeting NET 801 PM ET #ISS docking while still holding at 10 m hold point. delay was needed to avoid a handover in TDRS. and now a need to recheck the NASA docking system by retracting it. New target dock time TBD. stay tuned
Next month we're saying goodbye to the oldest Falcon 9 booster in the fleet and the last in the 40s Boosters
Booster: B1049
she will support the launch of Nilesat-301 on for her eleventh and final flight.
Seems we have had an expected launch (#17 for China in 2022) take place from Jiuquan around an hour ago, likely a CZ-2C with an YZ-1S upper stage. Confirmation of success should come from CASC soon (if it is a success...). Apparent footage: weibo.com/1658355213/LtU8nDH…
