I rather try a 1000 times and prove to myself, that i'm wrong, then not to have tried to figure 'it' out at all.
As finding a way 'it' doesn't work, at least gets rid of a wrong answer. If i try all the options, i'll eventually get the right one! it's the only one that's left 😉
